About DANIDA:
The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) is funding two
agricultural livelihoods programmes in Northern Uganda. DAR3 will be
implemented in Arua, Nebbi and Zombo districts in West-Nile while RALNUC3 will
be implemented Kitgum, Lamwo and Agago districts.
The two programmes are targeting 72,000 households and have three
strategic interventions: Agricultural Production and Marketing, Rural
Infrastructure and DLG Capacity Building.
The activities will be implemented by various local partners, e.g.
District Farmers Associations (DFAs) and Uganda National Agro-input Dealers
Association (UNADA). Some of the support services will be outsourced to private
companies.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the implementation of RALNUC3
  • Work closely with the District Local
    Governments about implementation of RALNUC3
  • Actively participate in District Technical
    Planning Committee Meetings when relevant
  • Advise the implementing partners on
    programme implementation
  • Intuitively review work plans and progress
    reports from the implementing partners
  • Hold coordination meetings with the
    implementing partners
  • Participate in development and maintenance
    of implementation guidelines for agricultural training, animal traction
    and collective marketing
  • Participate in development of agricultural
    training materials
  • Organise training courses for extension
    staff
  • Supervise the implementation of the
    agricultural activities
  • Offer technical backstopping for
    implementation of agricultural activities
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicants should possess Master’s
    Degrees in Agriculture or similar fields
  • Five or more years’ experience in project
    implementation and agricultural extension work
  • Past exposure and experience in developing
    training materials
  • Well-developed and effective communication
    skills – both verbal and written
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, often under
    pressure to meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficient
    in Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess 
    a valid driving license
