About UBOS:
The Government of Uganda (GoU), through the Uganda Bureau of Statistics
(UBOS), will be undertaking the National Population and Housing Census 2014
Enumeration Exercise from 28th August to 6th September 2014 in accordance with
the Uganda Bureau of Statistics Act, 1998. The Census 2014 results will provide
bench-mark socio-demographic data at all administrative levels necessary for
general administration and the planning process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Scanner Technician shall:
The Scanner Technician shall:
- Routinely service the Scanners and related
equipment; - Carry out regular scanner performance
checks; - Install worn out replaceable parts;
- Carry out incidental minor repairs;
- Maintain a service log for each Scanner;
and - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a
Diploma/Certificate in Computer Engineering and Hardware Maintenance; - Possess a Diploma/Certificate in
Electrical Engineering; and - A minimum of two years’ experience in the
repair and maintenance of scanners, photocopiers printers or related
equipments. - Ability to work effectively with minimal
supervision. - Ability to understand and follow oral and
written directives. - Ability to communicate clearly and
concisely, both orally and in writing.
