About JMS:
Joint Medical Stores (JMS) is a church founded private not-for-profit
organization whose mission is to supply medicines, medical equipment and
related health care services of assured quality to the people of Uganda at
affordable prices.
Job Summary: The Medical
Representatives will travel extensively in the assigned territories to build
relationships with new and well established medical practitioners and other
relevant parties at selected health facilities, and promote prescription of
selected products in line with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Visit
    selected health facilities on regular intervals and interact with
    prescribing Medical Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, and In-Charges to
    sensitize them about selected products and promote their use.
  • Secure
    expert endorsement and recommendation for selected products within
    Private-Not-For-Profit Health facilities.
  • Target
    and develop strong relationships with medical practitioners and gain
    commitment to prescribe selected products.
  • Maintain
    and update accurate records of all work completed and planned on
    territory- including accurate segmentation and targeting of all Medical
    practitioners.
  • Carry
    out effective and targeted market intelligence to understand the obstacles
    prohibiting the use of selected products and services and recommend
    initiatives to address them.
  • Train
    facility staff on the procedure for submitting orders at JMS and liaise
    with relevant officers at JMS to provide updates to facilities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Diploma
    in Medicine, or Diploma in Pharmacy.
  • Extensive
    clinical knowledge, and high level of integrity
  • Working
    experience in sales & marketing of pharmaceutical products is an added
    advantage
  • Computer
    literacy skills including experience in use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proven
    experience in customer and market research, selling & influencing
    skills
  • Excellent
    interpersonal skills, well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Planning,
    organizational and prioritization skills, able to withstand pressure and
    achieve targets
  • Possess
    valid class B driving license
