Job Summary: The Transport
Officer will plan, direct and coordinate all transport activities and
operations of the Company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain and update vehicle repair and servicing
    records
  • Keep track of fuel and lubricant
    statistics
  • Prepare sectional requisitions for vehicle
    requirements
  • Actively coordinate fuel and motor spare
    supplies and procurement
  • Take part in the recruitment and
    performance evaluation of company drivers
  • Maintain status reports on vehicles and
    motorcycles on a weekly basis
  • Ensure compliance of fleet with road
    regulations
  • Participate in preparations of budgets for
    transport and logistics section
  • Assist in preparation of transport routes,
    pick ups and schedules.
  • Put systems in to monitor and control
    motor vehicle movements
  • Directly monitor vehicle repairs and
    maintenance
  • Perform any other duties assigned to you
    from time to time within the Company framework.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The candidate should possess an Ordinary
    Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Hold additional qualifications in
    automotive engineering will would be an advantage
  • At least two years’ experience in a
    similar field in a reputable organisation.
  • Possess a Valid driving license
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the
    road rules and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours
  • Posses the ability to work independently
    to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi task with good knowledge
    of the country’s transport systems
  • Possess the ability to work effectively
    under time pressure and constraints
