Assurance Coordinator
Tourism Board (UTB)
Uganda
is a statutory organization established by the Tourism Act, 2008. The
objectives of UTB are to promote and contribute to the development of the
tourism sector both within and outside Uganda; to coordinate with the Ministry
of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and the private sector in the
implementation of the national tourism policy and to such activities as are
incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.
- Design,
present for approval and implement the National Quality Assurance Strategy
for Tourism in Uganda. - Identify
tourism stakeholders that have no standards and to propose standards, or
to assist in the development of standards for products and services
produced by tourism and hospitality providers. - Offer
direction in all aspects of quality assurance activities related to
inspection, registration, monitoring, classification, licensing,
sensitization, among other functions. - Manage,
supervise, coordinate and evaluate plans and activities of Quality
Assurance Officers. - Offer
leadership of the Quality Assurance Department in creating and
implementing activities that ensure that registered accommodation and
other tourism ancillary services comply with regulatory requirements. - Assist
in assessing whether stakeholders meet quality procedures, standards
and/or specifications and to help in ensuring that these are met. - Ensure
that service levels across the industry are adequately inspected and
monitored. - Oversee
the formal inspection process of accommodation and ancillary services to
ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. - Supervise
the establishment and maintenance of appropriate files and records,
accurately and transparently. - Actively
facilitate the creation of reports, forms and graphs for the Quality
Assurance department. - Perform
any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- The
applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Marketing, Business
Development or any relevant field. - Additional
experience and qualifications in quality assurance will be an added
advantage - Exceptional
Organizational and Planning skills; - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills; - Good
problem solving skills - Superior
networking and influencing skills. - Excellent
numerical and analytical skills
