AMREF aims to close the gap that prevents people from accessing their basic
right to health. AMREF is headquartered in Nairobi, and has programmes in
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, South Africa and West
Africa. Employing over 1000 staff and with an annual operating budget of
approximately $70 million, AMREF is a knowledge resource for donors and
partners.
Assistant will offer technical support during the project implementation,
coordination and monitoring of the planned project activities in line with the
Amref Health Africa’s Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will support in the
development of project work plans, track project progress, and prepare
reports on deliverables. - The job holder will technically support
the development of information, education and communication (IEC)
materials, training manuals and other relevant project documents. - The incumbent will offer technical support
in the capacity development and training of the relevant community health
workers and other relevant actors at the community level to improve the
delivery of information and services. - Significantly contribute to the
strengthening of the health management systems from the community to
district level through improved data collection and reporting in liaison
with the M&E department. - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned by the Project Officer.
Experience:
- The candidate should hold a Diploma in
Health related disciplines, or closely related field. - At least three years’ project
implementation experience in a busy NGO Setting. - Detailed knowledge of local government
health systems. - Computer literacy skills and IT skills
will be an added advantage and particularly in data management packages
such as EPI info or SPSS as well as knowledge of working with the packages - Fluency in the local languages of the
regions will be an added advantage. - Possess the ability to work independently
and with minimal supervision. - Highly flexible in handling work
assignments and ability to perform under pressure. - Commitment to quality and thoroughness.
