Auditor
established by an Act of Parliament 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and
distribute medicines and other medical supplies to public health facilities in
Uganda.
Auditor will manage one Internal Audit Assistant and the team will have the
responsibility of pre auditing.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for verification of payments
up to 500 million - Carry out compliance checks for tax
returns before filing - Responsible for verification of payroll
computations in line with Corporation and statutory requirements. - Be involved in receiving process of
trading stock to ensure compliance with procurement terms spelt out in the
contracts. - Actively participating in the bid opening
exercises for procurement to ensure that procurement procedures are being
followed. - Guide management on necessary
improvements, policies and procedures that are not being followed
appropriately - Verify cash collection, banking and bank
reconciliations that are being done correctly and on a timely basis - Compile and submit quarterly reports of
work performed and concerns raised for improvement. - Perform any other duties that may be
assigned by Chief Internal Auditor
Experience:
- The candidate should possess an honors
degree in Finance, Accounting or BBA (Accounting/Finance) or B. Com
(Finance/ Accounting) from a recognized university - Full professional Audit/ Accounting
qualification such as CIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA or an equivalent. - A minimum of three years’ working
experience in internal auditing in a reputable organization. - Practical experience in at least one
computer accounting application and general computer knowledge. - Possesses self-management skills and the
motivation to be able to efficiently organize own time - Assess priorities within own area of
responsibility - Process routine work within limited
supervision - Can demonstrate a high level of integrity
- Must approach all matters in non-biased
and professional manner. - Is a versatile self-starter who
demonstrates good leadership potential - Possess a positive attitude towards their
work - Willingness to work as part of a team
- Possess the ability to build and maintain
good networks internally and externally - Stay updated with academic literature
around his/her key areas of work - An ability to maintain a broad focus on,
and interest in current affairs that relate to NMS - Evidence of continuing professional
training - Is able to work well under tight
deadlines, sometimes heavy workloads. - With a high degree of individual
responsibility - Should not have been convicted in a
competent court of law of an offense involving moral turpitude or an
offense sentence exceed one year. - Should be a Ugandan citizen in line with
the constitutional mandate.
