Quality Analyst
established by the National Drug Policy and Authority Act Cap 206 , Laws of
Uganda (2000 Edition) to regulate Human and Veterinary Medicines and other
healthcare products. NDA’s mandate is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of
human and veterinary medicines and other healthcare products through the
regulation and control of their production, importation, distribution and use.
Laboratory Technician will maintain inventory of all in-coming medicines,
medical device samples, chemicals and reagents, chemical reference substances,
small apparatus and other laboratory consumables and issue them for testing or
use in the laboratory as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare specifications and requisition for
chemicals & reagents, CRS, and
laboratory consumables according to the approved budget. - Dispense and post amounts of items to
inventory control cards or automated
systems according to approved procedures. - Actively participate in the developing and
review/ updating stores management documents / records for compliance with
ISO/IEC 17025 standards and other relevant international standards, and
WHO guidelines. - Actively coordinate scheduled stocktaking
of all items in the stores and provide a report with matching costs. - Receive, code and maintain storage of all
retained samples after analysis. - Organize and maintain the database of the
samples / chemicals / reagents and small apparatus to correspond with the
codes in the retention stores for traceability and to raise awareness for
the retest of chemicals and working standards. - Ensure all storage areas are maintained at
appropriate environmental conditions and ensure that all stores including
shelves are clean and sanitary. - Conduct environmental monitoring of all
storage areas and ensure continuous suitability for all samples according
to approved procedures. - Monitor the consumption rate of chemicals
and reagent, chemical reference substances and other laboratory
consumables and determine re-order levels. - Inspect items and verifies them against
freight documents and the purchase order for quality and quantity
according to Good Laboratory Practice. - Report damaged or obsolete items that
require disposal for appropriate action - Compile and prepare monthly stores reports
for update - Perform any other duties assigned by the
supervisor from time to time
Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Ordinary
Diploma in Dispensing, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Laboratory Technology
(Chemistry) - At least five (5)years’ experience in a
stores management preferably handling Pharmaceutical products or chemicals
and reagents - High level integrity
- Attention to details
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good training in stores and inventory
management - Good knowledge and understanding of
national and international standards, norms and practices as they relate
to drug regulation and control. - Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficient
in MS Office computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access). - Working knowledge of occupational hazards
and safety precautions applicable to the work - Past training and experience with
specialized stores management package
