Pharmacovigilance
Authority (NDA)
established by the National Drug Policy and Authority Act Cap 206 , Laws of
Uganda (2000 Edition) to regulate Human and Veterinary Medicines and other
healthcare products. NDA’s mandate is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of
human and veterinary medicines and other healthcare products through the
regulation and control of their production, importation, distribution and use.
Information Officer will primarily regulate and to provide drug information to
the public and to coordinate pharmacovigilance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement guidelines for SOPs
on vetting drug promotional materials. - Organize meetings with stakeholders and
update them on new regulations in drug information. - Receive and analyze suspected adverse drug
reaction reports. - Compile reports and recommend action for
adverse drug reactions received. - Train and mentor health workers on
pharmacovigilance. - Disseminate information to all relevant
stakeholders. - Compile the pharmacovigilance bulletin.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the
supervisor from time to time.
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Pharmacy. - Be a Registered and an active member of
Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda - Past exposure and experience in a
reputable pharmaceutical or regulatory institution is an added advantage - Basic knowledge and understanding of
Pharmacovigilance - Possess the ability and willingness to
participate in field activities, frequently; and sometimes beyond normal
working hours - High degree of personal integrity

- Good presentation skills.
