Associate will play a key role in growing Impact Carbon’s institutional water business
and be responsible for driving top line revenue for the business unit. The
Sales Associate is the primary brand ambassador and will provide an exemplary
customer experience through product knowledge, suggestive selling and customer
engagement. She/he will be part of a small team working in an innovative and
fast paced environment, with significant professional growth potential and
competitive compensation structures. Specifically, she/he will conduct the
business unit’s sales activities in the current target geographic area, Wakiso
district, with potential expansion to other areas. Sales activities include:
the satisfactory completion of quarterly business targets (including meeting
target number of sales calls to designated schools and health facilities),
obtainment of quarterly revenue targets, and timely completion of all sales
contracts and receipt of initial down payments for all new institutional water
systems. The Sales Associate will also
work closely with the business unit’s Account Managers to ensure a smooth
customer transition from booking the order (Sales) to installation,
maintenance, and customer satisfaction (Account Management).
Responsibilities: The incumbent will
implement a sales strategy targeting schools and health clinics. Initial sales
will target institutions in the Wakiso district of Uganda, with potential
expansion to other parts of Uganda as the business matures.
- Implement sales strategy. Be accountable
for meeting or exceeding quarterly revenue targets and demand creation - Complete all requisite paperwork, namely
sales contracts, GPS tracking, and initial water surveys - Ensure efficient handoff to account
management team - Develop a plan to engage government, NGOs,
and other local strategic partners that have access to school networks or
collectives - Work closely with the Safe Water Program
Manager to implement a marketing and branding strategy to increase
consumer knowledge and uptake of products - Leverage current marketing partnerships
with local and international NGOs to coordinate marketing campaigns and
hold sales events - Use consumer research to develop new and
innovative marketing messages - Oversee the financial, operational and
logistical components of selling consumer goods, including stringent
documentation for carbon finance reporting - Ensure proper and thorough documentation
for carbon finance reporting, such as excellent sales records, complete
receipts and customer warranty cards
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s
degree in business (marketing, accounting or finance) or economics is
preferred - At least a year’s sales experience
- Past experience selling water purification
devices, large scale solar systems (household and institutional), or other
institutional energy goods preferred - Highly ambitious, sales oriented
individual who can take initiative on new projects and demonstrate strong
leadership skills - Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills, ability
to effectively multitask and the capacity to meet tight deadlines - Extremely high level of accountability
with cash management and inventory - High level of creativity and the desire to
develop new, innovative approaches to sales - Passion for Impact Carbon’s programs and
mission, including international health, environmental protection and
poverty alleviation - Fluency in both written and spoken English
- Fluency in Luganda is required
- Strong business and sales experience with
excellent quantitative and analytical skills - Residency or familiarity with Wakiso
district is preferred (proof of this should be included in the
application)
