Resource Officer
by the Tourism Act, 2008. The objectives of UTB are to promote and contribute
to the development of the tourism sector both within and outside Uganda; to
coordinate with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and the
private sector in the implementation of the national tourism policy and to such
activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above
objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all employees of the company
understand the Terms and Conditions of service and adhere to staff
regulations, as laid down in the HR Manual. - Oversee the performance management
practices in UTB. - Coordinate with heads of departments and
sections to compile the company annual leave roster and implements it
accordingly. - Responsible for the formulation and
maintenance of the employee database for employee benefits like on medical
entitlement and implement according to the company policy. - Update and maintain the personal records
(personal files) of employees in a manner which allows easy retrieval for
effective decision making by management. - Maintain an accurate, up-todate manpower
database of the company for sound human resource management. - Compile and prepare monthly reports, as
assigned, for submission to management. - Coordinate with the accounts department,
ensures that all employees have National Social Security Fund accounts. - Support the line managers in the process
of annual staff appraisal exercise and ensures that whole process conforms
to the norms and objectives of the policy. - Handle industrial relations issues, taking
into consideration the terms and conditions of service, staff regulations
and the grievance handling procedures. - Perform any other duties that may be
assigned by management.
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a B.A degree in
Human Resource management, Social Sciences or any other relevant degree
with postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management obtained from a
recognized institution. - At least three (3) years post
qualification experience in a busy HR department of a commercial
enterprise or a sizable busy organization. - Computer literacy skills i.e. competency
in Microsoft Word, Ms Excel and PowerPoint. - Mature professional, who is able to
interact and coordinate activities at all levels of UTB. - The applicant must have a high degree of
personal integrity. - Able to work under minimum supervision.
- Able to effectively communicate, orally
and in writing. - Willing to learn new ideas and ways of
working.
