Job Summary: The AMREF Project Officer will offer technical support during the implementation, coordination and monitoring of planned project activities in the designated areas of Gulu and Amuru in Northern Uganda in line with the Amref Health Africa’s Strategic Plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Render technical support in the preparation of relevant work plans in line with the project’s feasibility and effectiveness.
  • Provide support in ensuring stakeholders involvement in the development and operationalizaton of the project work plans in collaboration with technical district staff and other partners.
  • Develop timely and quality activity and financial reports in line with the organization reporting procedures.
  • The incumbent will ensure Strong community involvement and ownership of the project and a good working relationship with local communities and government structures.
  • The job holder will ensure enhanced visibility of Amref Health Africa in the designated areas, accountability and credibility evidenced by tangible results.
  • Ensure excellent documentation of experiences gained and lessons learned and dissemination to relevant stakeholders.
  • The job holder will carry out supervisory visits to project sites and provide feedback to relevant parties.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants should hold Bachelor’s degrees in Health or any other relevant field.
  • At least three years’ project implementation experience in a busy NGO Setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of local government health systems
  • Computer literate and IT skills will be an added advantage and particularly in data management packages such as EPI info or SPSS as well as knowledge of working with the packages.
  • Ability to manage financial resources in an NGO setting.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible in handling work assignments and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality and thoroughness.
  • Fluency in the local languages of the regions will be an added advantage.
