Authority (NDA)
Inspector of Drugs
established by the National Drug Policy and Authority Act Cap 206 , Laws of
Uganda (2000 Edition) to regulate Human and Veterinary Medicines and other
healthcare products. NDA’s mandate is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of
human and veterinary medicines and other healthcare products through the
regulation and control of their production, importation, distribution and use.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general secretarial duties
including minute taking, and circulating/follow up on relevant action - Organize and maintain the office diary of
schedules and make arrangements for meetings. - Monitor and supervise the proper use of
office equipment, furniture and fittings and report any breakdowns for
maintenance or replacement - Oversee and account for office equipment,
materials and imprest. - Maintain filing systems for incoming and
out-going mails of both confidential and routine correspondence - Draft correspondences as required by the
supervisor - Receive and disseminate correspondences,
mails and other information to relevant parties - Manage subordinate support staff attached
to the office. - Perform any other duties assigned by the
supervisor from time to time
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a good diploma in
Secretarial Studies, Office Management or closely related field from a recognized
institution - A minimum of five years’ experience
handling similar duties in a reputable organization. - Computer literacy skills i.e. Certificate
in the use of computer software (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc) in
support of secretarial work. - Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in Microsoft office applications,
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- Must be a strong team player
- Highly flexible to work under tight
deadlines - Effective communication and coordination
skills - Possession of a degree in the above
field(s) is an added advantage - Working knowledge of basic financial
management principles - Basic supervisory skills
