Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Render
    support in all aspects of the audit process including planning, fieldwork
    and completion
  • Plan
    a job including preparation for pre-planning meeting; liaising with the
    tax department on responsibilities and information required
  • Ensure
    that work papers in respect of work performed are clear, comprehensive and
    conclusive and prepare points for attention of senior team members
  • Actively
    communicate any technical or administrative issues with senior team
    members as appropriate
  • Refer
    to the firm’s risk management policies and procedures and be familiar with
    the audit manual
  • Plan
    and complete a small job, with assistance
  • Obtain
    an understanding of the client’s business and analyse client issues,
    reaching logical conclusions by applying theory to practice and appreciate
    their implication to potential audit issues. 
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The
    candidates should preferably hold first class honours degrees majoring in
    Accounts from a reputed university
  • Extensive
    working knowledge of accounting software used in Uganda
  • Hold
    professional accounting qualification CPA/ ACCA may have an added
    advantage
  • Past
    experience in similar positions for at least a year to two years would be
    an added advantage
  • Excellent
    numerical and analytical skills
  • Willingness
    to work under supervision and learn new -i skills quickly
  • Highly
    results-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Computer
    literacy skills i.e. working knowledge of various Microsoft packages
  • Keen
    adherence to the highest degree of professional standards and strict
    client confidentiality.
  • Ability
    to work well within a team
  • Excellent
    written and oral communication skills
  • Possess
    a strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and
    ideas
