Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Take
    charge of the broad client management and liaison on smaller less complex
    assignments
  • Play
    an active role in the audit planning discussions to identify audit risks
    and appropriate audit strategy
  • Actively
    communicate any issues relating to an audit with manager or partner.
  • Ensure
    efficient use of appropriate software packages
  • Manage
    all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
  • Compile
    and prepare or review work papers and drafts of financial statements
  • Produce
    client deliverables, specifically drafting sections of the report to
    management
  • Address,
    discuss and advance conclusion in respect to technical and audit issues
    identified during the course of the audit
  • Delegate
    work to other members of the audit team, ensuring associates understand
    their responsibilities and have received appropriate on-the-job
    training/coaching
  • Maintain
    an understanding of audit methodology
  • Adhere
    to the firms risk management policies and procedures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicants should have sound knowledge of accounting software used in
    Uganda
  • Possess
    professional accounting qualifications of CPA/ACCA
  • The
    applicants must preferably have experience of at least three years in a similar
    position
  • Excellent
    numerical and analytical skills
  • Willingness
    to work under supervision and learn new -i skills quickly
  • Highly
    results-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Computer
    literacy skills i.e. working knowledge of various Microsoft packages
  • Keen
    adherence to the highest degree of professional standards and strict
    client confidentiality.
  • Ability
    to work well within a team
  • Excellent
    written and oral communication skills
  • Possess
    a strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and
    ideas
