Contract) is the five-year organizational program support vehicle through which
USAID/Uganda will pursue realizing its development objectives within the
complicated and shifting Ugandan development context. The purpose of
the Learning Contract is to provide monitoring, evaluation and learning support
services and build capacity of USAID/Uganda to implement USAID’s Collaborating,
Learning, and Adapting methodology to strengthen the implementation of
USAID/Uganda’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy and enhance USAID’s
organizational effectiveness.
(Metaphor Analysis) will provide facilitation and training on the use of
metaphor analysis to unpack organizational thinking, communication and
implications for strategy coordination.
In addition to using this approach as a part of regular reflection
exercises metaphor analysis will be used to support a more involved, extended
application – i.e., to better understand how we are positioning our work, to
describe how we are talking about our work, and to articulate how we are
learning to use different lens/tools to enable knowledge capture and
organizational learning.
- Offer training/orientation on the
concept(s), approach(es) and analysis of metaphor use in organizations - Facilitate program review and reflection
sessions that use metaphor analysis - Support the mapping of organizational
processes that can benefit from the ongoing use of metaphor analysis - Advise on the use of tools to capture the
organizational experience with the metaphor use
Experience:
- At least 10 years of organizational
development experience, with a specific focus on organizational
communication, knowledge management/organizational learning or strategy
planning/analysis - Demonstrated expertise in
workshop/training design and facilitation/execution - Past experience working with international
development/affairs organizations and/or in developing country contexts;
donor agency experience a plus - Excellent track record of enabling/guiding
change management/organizational improvement processes
