opened in August 1912. We had 11 branches up to 1972 and retained only one
branch during the turbulence of the 70s. In 1998 we acquired 4 branches of
former Cooperative Bank in November 1999. Standard Chartered Bank Uganda today
has a network of 11 branches in Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Mbarara and Gulu. Standard
Chartered Bank Uganda has 29 ATMs and over 600 staff.
Job Summary: The Head,
Intergrated Distribution will be responsible for full implementation and
delivery of the business strategy and Intergrated Distribution strategic agenda
across all the channels. 
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
1. Strategy formulation & execution, and financial management:
  • Align with group & country CB
    priorities
  • Oversee profitability across channels
  • Assist in the identification and
    definition of the technology roadmap for alternate channels to support
    consumer business delivery i.e. internet-banking and mobile banking.
  • In charge of taking lead in the
    productivity through process improvement, better management tools and
    training
  • Actively optimize channels P&L, Balance
    Sheet & KPIs
  • Steer new sales and total revenue thru
    customer acquisition/deepen/retention
  • Responsible for business development,
    external alliance management
2. Customer Experience & Relationship Management:
  • Responsible for the delivery of Bank’s
    brand promise to our customer, tailored across segments
  • Partner with segment and products
  • Responsible for embedding a culture of
    service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Identify process improvements
    opportunities, drive for gap resolutions
3. Leadership, People & Community Development:
  • Ensure organization structure & people
    programs appropriate to deliver plans
  • Implement and embed a high performance
    culture through robust performance management and differentiated reward
    and recognition.
  • Responsible for developing a succession
    plan for all one down and mentor/coach top talent & HIPOs
  • Achieve strategic people requirements
  • Take lead in employee engagement &
    attrition
  • Lead in strong internal & external
    networking & alliances building
4. Risk management & Control:
  • Ensure compliance with external and
    internal regulations/policies on Ops, Credit, Reputational and People Risk
  • Responsible for the implementation of Risk
    Type Global policies across the Cluster, and as appropriate, the
    maintenance of Business Policy/ Country addendum.
  • Ensure that risk assurance processes are
    in place across the Cluster to provide evidence of proactive risk
    management of the Risk Type and compliance with policy.
  • Ensure that the Risk Type is properly
    represented at the relevant Business/ Country Risk Committees.
  • Ensure that Risk Management
    responsibilities and processes for the Risk Type are properly communicated
    across the Business/ Country to all staff impact 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a University
    Degree backed by very strong formal banking and management training
  • At least 15 years’ experience in financial
    services industry
  • The candidate must have played senior role
    in branches, New Business equivalent, Contact Centre management or Remote
    Banking with domain expertise in at least 2 areas and, if possible, with
    experience in products/credit risk/operations
  • Be a strategic thinker, with proven large
    team management capability
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products,
    sales, services, delivery channels and customer segments 
  • Good communication skills both written and
    oral and the ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Very good knowledge and understanding of
    the Group Policies, Standards, local regulations and legislations on the
    prevention of money laundering.
