Children Senior Officer WASH will be responsible for the direct supervision of
WASH infrastructure – construction and rehabilitation within vulnerable
communities targeted by Save the Children. The post is specifically oriented
towards the WASH Emergency response in the context of the refugee crisis in the
refugee settlement, and special attention will be made on the integration of
the WASH sector in other core sectors of Save the Children such as nutrition,
health, education and child protection.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate
for the aforementioned NGO Career Vacancy should possess a Degree in Water
and Sanitation supply management, or a relevant discipline. Additional or post graduate
qualification in Engineering or Water and Sanitation systems is an added
advantage - At least three years’
experience in handling WASH generally and in emergency situations or
conflict/post conflict situations in a reputable organization, preferably
an international NGO - Possess the ability to
speak local language and directly interact with target group will be an
added advantage - Past experience of working
with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is
an added advantage. - Excellent analytical
skills and strategic planning abilities. - Possess the ability to
establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform
effectively as a member of a team. - Exhibit willingness to
travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous
conditions. - Computer literacy
skills and excellent documentation skills are a must. - Availability and
willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses. - Highly developed
cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international
environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures - Ability to intervene
with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary. - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation
and coaching - Excellent time
management and planning capacity.
