Fund (NSSF) is a Provident Fund mandated to provide social security to its
members as prescribed by law under CAP 222 (Laws of Uganda) through efficient
management of members’ contributions. The NSSF asset base is currently over
Ugx. 4 trillion, making the Fund one of the largest players in Uganda’s
economy.
Fund (NSSF) is positioning itself to be the Social Security Provider of Choice
in Uganda. Our belief at the Fund is that each employee contributes directly to

Applications Manager will be responsible for the Availability, reliability and
Performance of IT Applications in the Fund, overseeing System Analysis,
Procurement, Installation, and Maintenance of Applications as well as ensures
that they function efficiently as required.
- Actively
monitor the performance of the applications and their databases and ensure
24×7 application software availability for mission critical business
processes. - Technically
support, troubleshoot, and maintain production systems to optimize
performance, resolve problems, and provide timely follow-up on identified
issues. - Organize,
prioritize, coordinate, and administer the day-to-day activities and
workload of the Application Section. - Offer
IT Applications projects management and administration to ensure that the
development and delivery of information systems solutions meets or exceeds
the expected business requirements, and that work is completed and
delivered on time and within budget. - Receive
and attend to user queries and requests with regards to IT Application and
- Review
and analyze user feedback on functionality of IT Applications. - Manage
all aspects of the application lifecycle, including systems analysis,
design, development, deployment, maintenance, and enhancements. - Continually
Research, analyze and recommend system enhancements, improvements and
add-ons. - Effectively
manage the Organizational relationships with software Vendors - Monitor
and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with service level
agreements. Ensure service levels agreements are valid and up to date - Coach,
train and mentor, carry out performance appraisals and review of junior
staff within the section.
- The
Applications Manager should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
or related field - A
Post Graduate degree in Management or Computer Science. - Five
or more years’ experience in managing core-system applications - Past
exposure and experience with project management of financial systems and
ERPs - Skills
and experience with software development and system design - Prior
experience with software life cycle management. - Project
Management; specifically PRINCE2 - Professional
database Certification: OCP - ITIL
