About NSSF: 
The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is a Provident Fund mandated
to provide social security to its members as prescribed by law under CAP 222
(Laws of Uganda) through efficient management of members’ contributions. The
NSSF asset base is currently over Ugx. 4 trillion, making the Fund one of the
largest players in Uganda’s economy.
The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is positioning itself to be
the Social Security Provider of Choice in Uganda. Our belief at the Fund is
that each employee contributes directly to the growth and success of the
business and each employee is expected to take pride in being a member of the
team.
Job Summary: The NSSF
Strategy and Planning Manager will primarily drive the strategic, planning and
performance management activities to ensure the set objectives of the Fund are
met.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee the strategy and planning
    activities of the Fund to ensure it rides on its strengths to take
    advantage of the identified opportunities.
  • Responsible for the preparation of
    forecasts resulting from the strategic plan and any other plans to be
    implemented, and measuring performance against the forecasts on a regular
    basis identifying any performance gaps and measures, ensuring that set
    objectives are met in a timely manner.
  • Development of products and other
    initiatives for the Fund by preparing business cases to ensure they are
    viable before implementation.
  • Gather and analyze relevant industry
    economic and market intelligence data on the industry locally and
    internationally.
  • Aid in the identification of potential
    opportunities for synergies with external stakeholders such as Uganda
    Revenue Authority, Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Trade Unions, Bank of
    Uganda and National Planning Authority that the Fund can tap into.
  • Offer technical guidance to the Fund
    through undertaking research on topical subjects to answer questions
    relating to our business.
  • Facilitate and execute several surveys –
    National Knowledge Attitude and Preference
  • Survey, Staff Satisfaction Survey, Service
    Providers Survey, Client Exit Surveys, Customer Feedback.
  • Receive and respond to internal and
    external requests for information related to the activities of NSSF.
  • Obtain data/information from external
    statistics producers like International Labor
  • Organization, International Social
    Security Association, Uganda Bureau of Statistics,
  • Bank of Uganda, Uganda Revenue Authority,
    National Planning Authority and maintain correspondence with these
    organizations.
  • Work with other departments during
    implementation of new initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties that may be
    assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the aforementioned
    NSSF job vacancy should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business,
    Finance, Statistics, Economics or any other related discipline from a
    recognized University.
  • Hold full Accounting professional
    qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA or an equivalent.
  • A Master’s degree in Business
    Administration or other related disciplines.
  • A minimum of seven years’ working
    experience in a large business driven organization in sectors in areas of
    Strategy and Planning, Management Information and Performance Analyst,
    Product/ Services Development and Management with at least two years at
    managerial level.
  • Past exposure and experience in Pensions
    and/or benefits would be an added advantage.

    understanding of financial and non-financial data

  • Skills in Budgeting & Forecasting
