deposit taking microfinance institutions, SACCOs, microfinance institutions and
multilateral and bi-lateral donors.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Technically support the development of
    strategic plan for country initiatives in the digital financial services
    space including strategic plans for partner MNOs and banks
  • Draft technical assistance agreement,
    appraisal and budget for each potential partner support and obtain
    approval from donor(s) under two work streams
  • Development of rural agent
    networks for branchless banking / payments
  • Product development beyond
    basic payments
  • Working with the Central Bank of Uganda
    and other stakeholders to further digital financial services in Uganda
  • Monitor and review of the off-site and
    on-site work of other staff involved in key functional areas
  • Offer training, technical assistance, and
    implementation support to partners as per the work plan – including
    leveraging The Helix Institute of Digital Finance .
  • Attend mobile money working group
  • meetings, conferences and seminars and
    represent MicroSave as also the donor(s)
  • Maintain excellent rapport with other
    donor agencies and identify synergies between donor programmes
  • Recommend adoption of international best
    practices customised to the ecosystem, target clients, and initiative of
    the partner organisation
  • Coordinate at the overall country level
    and acting as the focal/contact point for all the stakeholders
  • Develop excellent relationship with all
    stakeholder institutions (partners and non-partners)
  • Promote partnership between partner
    organisations to develop the DFS ecosystem.
  • Ensure quarterly/ yearly reporting by all
    partner organisations to donors
  • Draft quarterly country dashboard
  • Report to MicroSave and to donors on a
    periodic basis
  • Identify suitable opportunities to improve
    the business for other business domains within MicroSave and coordinate
    with and support the MicroSave Country Manager in business development
    efforts.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as
    maybe mentioned by donors and/or MicroSave.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
The successful candidate will possess a master’s degree with
experience in east Africa/Uganda and expertise in digital financial services
delivery / mobile money and in managing medium to large donor projects.
