About URF:
The Uganda Road Fund (URF) is a body corporate established by Uganda Road Fund Act 2008 to finance the routine and periodic maintenance of public roads. URF strives to provide effective and sustainable financing of maintenance for public roads, build partnerships with stakeholders and serve with uttermost integrity.
Job Summary: As Head of Corporate Services, the Manager Corporate services is responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the Corporate Services function which includes, among others, the legal duties, HR and Administration, Corporate Communications and Systems Administration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all the legal functions of the Fund, which include, but not limited to; advising the Executive Director on all legal matters pertaining to the fund, drafting of contracts with the fund’s collection agencies and performance agreements with designated agencies, handle litigations, negotiations and mediations on behalf of the fund, ensure conformity to national operating laws and relevant international laws and standards;
- Support the Executive Director in attending to all Board business and follow up of Board resolutions;
- Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Administration and Human Resource functions, the Corporate Communications functions and the Information Systems functions of the Fund;
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelors’ degree in Law, Commerce, Management, or any other relevant degree;
- A Post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice or ICSA is a must;
- A Masters’ degree in Law, Business Administration, or Management or any other related field is a must;
- Legal practice will be an added advantage;
- Twelve or more years’ experience, 8 of which shall be at Senior Management level in a reputable similar organization;
- Extensive experience in Corporate Secretarial practice;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Corporate Governance, legal risk management, Public Sector Administration, negotiations skills, verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
