Finance Officer
Fund (NSSF) is a Provident Fund mandated to provide social security to its
members as prescribed by law under CAP 222 (Laws of Uganda) through efficient
management of members’ contributions. The NSSF asset base is currently over
Ugx. 4 trillion, making the Fund one of the largest players in Uganda’s
economy.
Fund (NSSF) is positioning itself to be the Social Security Provider of Choice
in Uganda. Our belief at the Fund is that each employee contributes directly to
the growth and success of the business and each employee is expected to take
pride in being a member of the team.
Head of Information Technology will offer leadership to the Fund in regards to
technology and information management. He / she will also develop and implement
strategic and tactical I.T initiatives to enable business efficiency for the
Fund.
- Offers
strategic planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the
information and technology systems for the Fund. - Provides
technical advice and guidance to the CEO, ExCo and the Board of Directors
on I.T strategic issues, day to day operations and problem resolution. - Actively
participates in policy and decision making regarding resource allocation
and future direction and control of proposed information systems. - Manages
and monitors the implementation of servers, infrastructure, networks and
security systems implemented for use in the Fund - Plans,
manages and ensures the integration of various ERP systems in line with
the Fund’s long term objectives. - Innovates
and develops products enabling business units to efficiently perform using
less resources. - Recommends
sourcing of large and complex I.T related purchases for the Fund and
prepares the procurement plan for the department. - Offers
leadership to staff though monitoring and managing the performance of
staff, identification of training and development needs and ensuring staff
are competent to deliver service and results. - Prepares
and ensures the efficient management of the IT budget.
- The
applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer
Sciences, Information Systems Management or Engineering. - Possession
of a post graduate qualification in Business Administration or Information
Systems Management is desirable. - Hold
a certificate in I.T or software project management. - Professional
certifications in ITIL, Cisco Networking and Microsoft Systems. - Professional
certification or training in Information Systems Security is an added
advantage. - A
minimum of eight years’ experience in Information Technology of which 4
years should have been in a senior management role. - Experience
in the retirement benefits sector would be an added advantage - Previous
experience in complex ERP/software projects. - Past
exposure and experience with managing multi-specialised IT staff. - Project
Management specifically Software Project Management or PRINCE2, IT Service
Management such as ITIL v 2011 - Certification
in Microsoft Systems i.e. Microsoft Certified Professional or Engineer - Networking
certification specifically Cisco Certified Network Associate - Information
Security Management such as CISSP or CISM - The
person should be of high morals and integrity.
