venture between Nokia of Finland and Siemens of Germany known as Nokia Siemens
Networks. NSN has operations in around 150 countries including Uganda. In 2013,
Nokia acquired 100% of the company, with a buy-out of Siemens AG.
Job Summary: The First Line Maintenance
Manager will steer and facilitate the organizational unit, with the full
responsibility of all personnel management aspects. The incumbent also ensures
operational efficiency and right focus by connecting business issues and
organizations operating procedures. He / she will also drive customer satisfaction
proactively in own area.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for implementing the
    strategy for the site/technology/functional area.
  • Responsible for final planning
    responsibility for the own area.
  • Has the individual responsibility for
    goal setting, operations, resourcing, results and competence development
    of the site/technology/functional area as a whole.
  • Decides upon compensation and benefits
    within budget limits.
  • Ensures that the line organization and
    the various projects work in harmony with each other.
  • Main responsibility for customer
    satisfaction in site/technology/functional area.
  • Responsible for field operations in
    designated work area.
  • Responsible for corrective &
    preventive maintenance.
  • Render technical support escalated
    field operations matters in the service area.
  • Provides Field weekly and monthly
    reports to Management
  • Ensure timely closure of all sign
    off’s with customer and subcons
  • Maintains Test Equipment, Tool kits
    and vehicles
  • Maintains & Manages Spare Part
    required for Corrective & Preventive Maintenance
  • Supports project managers with
    delivery of new Network Elements & Sites
  • Maintains POI relationship
  • Manage retrofits as required by
    project, and any other (defined) special projects.
  • Performs special assignments to
    resolve Network Operations Issues
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in Telecom, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of two years’ work
    experience.
