About CAA:
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is a corporate body responsible for
regulation of civil aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe International
Airport (EIA) and thirteen (13} other upcountry aerodromes. CAA carries out its
work in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
Job Summary: The Stores
Assistant must ensure proper storage and coding of all stores items and ensure
efficient retrieval and coding of items in stock.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
1. Stores Process:
  • Receives and inspects all local stores
    deliveries to ensure that they comply with specifications on the official
    orders
  • Accurately and timeously posts to stock
    cards the issued items by use of goods issued note or goods received note.
  • Ensures that quality and quantity agree
    with LPO.
  • Carries out inspections to validate
    quality packaging, demonstration, etc.
  • Posts issued items onto respective stock
    cards to ensure accurate records are maintained to avoid stock outs and
    also comply with re-order level
  • Receipts all delivered goods and carries
    out reconciliation of LPO and delivery on receiving the goods.
2. Reconciliations of stock:
  • Conducts periodic reconciliation of
    physical stores to card balances to confirm the accurate position
    regarding stocks levels
  • Reconciles stock cards with physical
    stores to check and correct mis-posting.
  • Maintenance of order in the stores
  • Maintains order and proper arrangement of
    shelves to ensure easy retrieval of items
  • Clears the stores daily to ensure clean
    conditions and avoid damage to stores items
3. In charge of mechanical stores in the fire service:
Receives and issues goods at service department by following CAA stores
procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold an A Level
    certificate and a Diploma in Stores Management
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant working
    experience in a reputable large organisation
  • A mature person of high integrity and with
    a clean record of service
