About CHAI:
Founded in 2002 by President William J. Clinton, the Clinton Health
Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to
strengthening integrated health systems around the world and expanding access
to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and other illnesses. Based on the
premise that business oriented strategy can facilitate solutions to global
health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new resources and
optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via improved organization
of commodity markets and more effective local management. By working in
association with governments and other NGO partners, CHAI is focused on large
scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower pricing agreements for
treatment options in more than 70 countries. In addition, CHAI’s teams are
working side-by-side with over 30 governments to tackle many of the largest
barriers to effective treatment and care.
Job Summary: The Associate,
Central Medical Warehouses will support the growth of this work, particularly
through the support, project management, and delivery of current projects. The
Associate will provide different types of support to the warehouses including
data analysis, software development, strategic advisory support, and other
tasks—some of which comes with a high level of urgency and quick timelines for
output delivery.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee key central warehouse-facing work
    streams, including a software development project
  • Carry out analyses to answer strategic
    questions and/or monitor ongoing supply chain trends
  • Curate key data sources and support data
    needs of the CHAI Uganda offices
  • Maintain and strengthen client
    relationships
  • Work closely with other CHAI Uganda teams
    to ensure a firm grasp of team priorities as they relate to the central
    supply chain.
  • Communicate key central warehouse
    priorities and interests.
  • Collaborate to support
    deliverables/outputs that strengthen the health sector.
  • Cultivate and curate supply chain
    knowledge in order to provide thought leadership internally and externally
  • Assist in the identification of
    high-impact opportunities to ensure a stable supply of medicines and
    medical supplies in Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a BA from a top
    tier university
  • At least two years’ experience in
    management consulting, investment banking, or similar experience
  • The ideal candidate for the Associate
    vacancy should have significant experience building strong client
    relationships
  • Be a strategic thinker and is energized by
    the opportunity to create structure in a fluid environment, has strong
    analytical and project management skills, and enjoys working on different
    projects at one time.
  • Excellent analytical skills and
    communication skills (especially with excel, powerpoint, word, etc.)
  • Exceptional performance in ambiguous,
    fluid, or unstructured work environments
  • Demonstrated success balancing multiple
    priorities and projects at once
  • Demonstrated success building strong
    client relationships
  • Experience or strong interest in supply
    chain
  • Prior experience or strong interest in
    software development
  • Past experience working abroad
