ActionAid’s mission is to work with the poor and the ActionAid Uganda (AAU), a national development organization registered under the laws of Uganda and with a local Board seeks to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven, result-oriented individuals to fill the position above.
Job Summary: The Driver will provide Transport Services, Administrative and Other Logistical Support to Staff and Stakeholders in line with the AAU Policies and Procedures
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Drive staff, visitors, partners and other stakeholders to and from various destinations as per AAIU policies and procedures
  • Maintaining vehicles, generators and motor cycles in clean and good mechanical conditions in line with AAIU policies
  • Pick, deliver and account for all correspondences (mails, messages, parcels etc) in line with instructions and known office practice
  • Offer support to staff and other stakeholders in the field; photo up date and child message collection and deliveries as per their work plan and procedures
  • Plan and budget for the vehicle and provide other logistical support and prepare periodic accountabilities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should preferably hold an A-level certificate (UACE) or its equivalent, Training in; Defensive Driving, Basic computer skills;
  • Training in Basic Financial and Logistics Management is an added advantage.
  • At least three to five years’ driving experience with government/NGOS   
  • Good knowledge of             Traffic rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of rural communities
  • Problem Sensitivity: Ability to analyze issues and identify problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, Luo and any other Local Language/s
