Responsibilities:
- The Librarian will serve as a Member of
Senate and Research committee - Responsible for the implementation and
enforcement of the Library Policy. - Planning, budgeting and reporting on the
Library - Networking with relevant associations and
institutions to advance the Library - Oversight of Library collections
- Mentor and supervise subordinate staff
- Orient students and support the wider
community to access the Library resources, physical and electronic. - Manage the library database
- Perform any other duties as may be
assigned by management
Experience:
- The Librarian should ideally hold a
Master’s degree in Information systems or Achieves, information science,
library science or related field. - Five or more years’ experience in related
field, evidence of research and publications in renowned journals and
experience in use of automated library information management systems - Highly knowledgeable in university systems
and structures. - Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Excellent Understanding of Quality
Assurance Programmes nationally and regionally - Computer literacy skills
