Job
Summary: The Laboratory Technician will
offer technical support, ensuring that equipment in the laboratories is
functioning properly and is ready to use, right materials are available for particular
lesions. Work closely with students to explain or demonstrate experiments or
how to use equipment as well as helping lecturers and individual students with
research projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Academic
Staff to discuss timetable, equipment requirements and work plans. - Routinely test experiments
prior the lecturers. - Prepare equipment and
chemicals needed for the lecturers. - Maintain equipment and
laboratory apparatus. - Ensure that equipment is
properly cleaned and chemicals, drugs and other materials are
appropriately stored. - Offer technical support to
Lecturers and students. - Actively participate in
research projects in the School. - Ensure compliance and
adherence to all health and safety procedures in place.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor
of Science Degree preferably in Biochemistry, Laboratory Technology, Technology
Chemistry and Medical Laboratory Technology - Possession of masters degree
in relevant field will be an added advantage - A minimum of three years’ experience
in the laboratory work. - Practical organization skills
- Computer literacy skills
- Effective communication skills
