About Imperial Bank:
Imperial Bank was founded in Kenya in 1993 as a Finance and Securities
Company.  The bank converted into a fully
fledged commercial bank in January 1996. Since then it has had a long standing
tradition of achieving strong financial performance while successfully focusing
on efficient client service delivery. 
Imperial Bank has also been on an aggressive expansion strategy as is
witnessed with the opening of the Uganda subsidiary in February this year.  The bank which has 16 branches in Kenya has
just opened its 2nd branch in Kampala at the Mukwano mall on Kyaggwe road.
Job Summary: The Head of
Compliance – Operations will support the Bank in minimizing the risks to which
the Bank is exposed to by independently
reviewing the adequacy and effectiveness of IBL’s internal operations controls,
policies and procedures. This is a senior management role that the holder is
expected to perform through the constant oversight of the daily Branch and Back
Office Operations to ensure compliance with the laid down operational rules,
procedures and policies.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate
    must hold a bachelor’s degree in Business related field such as; Commerce,
    Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
  • Professional
    Accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CFA, CISA).
  • Additional training in
    Information Systems Audits, Security and Controls is also desirable.
  • The candidates should
    have a minimum of five years’ experience in a back office or branch
    operations.
  • Good working knowledge
    of the Ugandan banking environment together with sound knowledge of
    operational trends in the financial services industry (including; Risk,
    AML, Audit Management and Compliance issues).
  • Good understanding and
    knowledge of the regional and international financial services industry
    and the trends in this sector.
  • Excellent
    Communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Leadership and
    analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy
    skills i.e. proficiency (MS Office and core banking systems).
