Hima Cement Limited (HCL) is a cement manufacturer in Uganda. Hima Cement Limited is 70% owned by LaFarge, the construction materials manufacturer based in France. Hima Cement Limited is the second-largest manufacturer of cement in Uganda, producing an estimated 850,000 metric tonnes annually. The leading cement manufacturer in the country, Tororo Cement Limited, has a production capacity of over 1 million metric tonnes annually.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble and analyse business ERP data as well as Macro, Industry and market specific data into information, and avail to management in a timely fashion for strategic, tactical and operational requirements.
- Drive supply chain planning through the budgeting and forecasting processes especially the monthly material requirements and prices rolling forecasts.
- Responsible for timely generation & submission of HR performance reports including the monthly performance dashboard and labour cost analysis
- Offer recommendations to bridge the gaps identified in the supply chain performance reports. Propose and follow up on action plan to ensure the actions are closed off within the agreed timeframe
- Analysis and follow up of production variable costs and transport costs
- Provide support to supply chain managers in regular analysis and follow up of SGA for the supply chain functions.
- Offer technical support to business management in computation & timely processing of cost analysis and tender details.
- Analysis of the business risk management through an enhanced appraisal and monitoring process,
- Make sure periodic generation and review of exception reports and implementation of other internal control actions for management control purposes.
- Model supply chain projects such as financial tender appraisals, outsourcing analysis, buy or lease analysis to drive key decisions as well as other improvement initiatives within the supply chain function
- Offer technical support to Human Resource Manager, Marketing Manager, and Logistic Manager through regular analysis and follow up of SGA for the functions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should possess a good University degree in Engineering, Statistics, Commerce or Finance & ACCA/ CPA is of added advantage
- At least three years’ experience in a busy commercial/ business environment
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent understanding and application of management information systems
- Past exposure and experience with Enterprise Resource Applications – SAP.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office especially Microsoft excel
