Job Summary: The Production Manager will plan, oversee, and assist with every detail of our production process while training and setting an example for our team. You will work on the factory floor alongside the production staff of approximately 50 people focusing on increasing our capacity and quality.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Evaluating the production process and testing revisions that will increase quality, reduce labor hours and lead time, and minimize waste
  • Preparing reports to monitor work in process, production, waste, and costs of goods sold
  • Setting production schedules based on both specific orders and desired inventory levels
  • Documenting best processes steps at each station and ensure those steps are followed
  • Communicating with the US office regarding shipping dates, production progress, and any potential challenges
  • Minimizing machinery and production line down time through maintenance and training
  • Mentor team leaders and production professionals on lean production principles
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • Five or more years of production related work experience (required)
  • 2-3 years of direct management experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English and Luganda
  • Attention to detail with the ability to generate and execute on your ideas for improvements
