Entebbe Handling Services, ENHAS is in existence since April 1996. QUALITY SERVICES is what we have to deliver. Along the years, our clientele has grown from 5 Airlines to 19 regular scheduled Airlines, and many more special flights. To develop quality services, ENHAS have organized to be certified by IATA Airport Handling Manual 804 where we enter into Service Level Agreements, ISAGO (IATA safety Audit for Ground Operations) which acts as a model for operational risk and safety management, DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulations) training centre thus we offer training for dangerous goods and, very recently by RA3 to screen cargo only from validated entities as required by EU regulations.

Job Summary: The ENHAS Workshop Manager ensures effective working teams and systems for improved performance in the workshop.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Make sure that all workshop processes are efficient and effective and adhered to by workshop staff; job card system, vehicle break down reporting and analysis for repair, vehicle release after repair, safety systems e.t.c
  • Continuously evaluates systems and processes drawing on own diagnosis, professional knowledge/experience so as to improve performance of the workshop;
  • Maintains serviceability of ground service equipment (GSE) at optimal target levels as established by management;
  • Responsible for the procurement process and ensure cost effectiveness and timeliness in the supply of all spare parts, lubricants and tools for vehicles and equipment;
  • Works closely with Operation heads to draw up yearly budget for GSE, accordingly prioritise and make recommendations to supervisor;
  • Compiles progressive data to show the performance of all vehicles and recommend to management which ones are not economically viable to keep;
  • Actively participates in the recruitment of workshop staff;
  • Provides technical assistance and on-job training to mechanics and electricians by physically working with them;
  • Responsible for instilling discipline of staff in the section and ensures compliance with the disciplinary code;
  • Directly supervises Workshop Administrator and Foreman;
  • Compiles and submits monthly report to supervisor on summary of breakdowns on motorized and non -motorized equipment.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering;
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in plant maintenance in a busy workshop;
  • Highly proficient at trouble shooting;
  • Past exposure and experience in modern diesel systems operation and maintenance;
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in hydraulic systems, overhaul of heavy duty engines, and automatic transmission systems.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability
  • High personal initiative and creativity in problem solving
  • High degree of integrity and ethics a must.
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and e-mail.
