Job Summary: The Centenary Bank Manager, Securities and
Back Office Support will plan, monitor, review and coordinate compliance with
credit policy and Divisional work Plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update a
    complete database for all credit securities in the Bank, ensure dual
    control for access of all credit securities and safe custody thereof,
    cordinate the system of tracking movement of securities; oversee the stock
    taking of securities in Branches/Head Office,  and report on compliance in line with
    the Credit policy.
  • Manage the process of
    capturing all securities in the e-securities’ register for all security
    files submitted to Head office and at Branches, identify any irregularities
    and take remedial action with the responsible staff in line with credit
    policy.
  •  Proactively drive and grow the process of
    perfection of customer securities for all credit facilities, track
    submissions thereof to Legal for registration of mortgage or caveats on a
    weekly basis; and follow up to ensure that all related fees are processed
    from the relevant General Ledger accounts in line with agreed operating
    guidelines.
  • Review and recommend
    authorization for release of mortgages/ Caveats on all credit securities
    in line with credit policy.
  • Coordinate the process
    of coding accounts into the Payment Solutions Uganda (PSU) software on a
    daily basis; ensure that all branches comply with the Ministry of Public
    Service & Payment Solutions Uganda guidelines;  proactively drive data submission and
    upload into the PSU software; and follow up for timely posting of all
    funds received to beneficiary accounts in line with credit policy.
  • Make sure that all
    users of the PSU system have adequate user rights set for their day to day
    operations in order to ensure continuity of work flow in line with PSU
    guidelines and Credit policy.
  • Work closely with the
    external and internal auditors for smooth facilitation of their work,
    peruse through the Branch auditors’ reports, identify audit findings,
    proactively escalate and follow up on issues raised thereof in line with
    Credit policy.
  • Coordinate submission
    of insurance premium submissions to insurers for all credit facility
    types, monitor renewal of expired insurance policies, manage insurance
    claim process for all credit facilities and prepare the different analysis
    reports for Management in line with the Credit policy.
  • Oversee the
    performance and development of subordinate staff in line with set HR
    guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant should
    possess an honors degree in Commerce, Business Administration or other
    relevant course from a recognized University
  • Professional Post
    graduate qualifications in the relevant field is an  added advantage
  • At least four years’
    experience in Credit operations at supervisory level
  • Flexibility to serve in any other unit
    in the division when required
  • Excellent analytical
    skills.
  • Good report writing
    skills
  • Computer literacy
    skills i.e. Good knowledge of Ms Computer applications
  • Highly capable of
    exercising creativity with sound judgment
  • Possess the ability to
    work independently.
  • Excellent
    communication and Interpersonal skills
  • High degree of
    integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage
    several deliverables in a timely and effective manner.
