Key
Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • The Business and Finance
    Associate will carry out due diligence assessments of private sector
    healthcare businesses and address the identified capacity gaps with
    suitable technical assistance.
  • The incumbent will support the
    design and delivery of appropriate business development services
    (including training) to build the capacity of providers to run their
    businesses sustainably and profitably.
  • In addition to this, the
    Business and Financial Associate will work directly with a portfolio of
    private healthcare businesses to help them prepare for bank financing and
    measure the impact of their borrowing.
  • The jobholder will also
    provide support and technical assistance to partner banks and other
    financial institutions identified as potential sources of financing for
    private health providers.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:  
  • The applicant should have at
    least three years’ experience working in the Ugandan banking and finance
    sector or professional experience in adult education and training;
  • Possession of a Master’s
    degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other relevant
    discipline;
  • Good knowledge and
    understanding of the business needs of small and medium-sized businesses
    and or healthcare facilities;
  • Working knowledge of business
    development services, including training, counseling and business
    networking;
  • Excellent project management,
    communication, writing, and computer skills;
  • Possess the ability to travel
    within Uganda (up to 50%);
