Job Summary: The Advocacy
Officer will primarily support the Forum in the medium to long-term engagement
in advocacy for improved preparedness and effective implementation of disaster
risk reduction strategies.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • The jobholder will be developing and
    implementing the advocacy strategy for the ACT Uganda forum, with a key
    focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Preparedness in Uganda.
  • The incumbent will actively engage on
    policy issues at the necessary levels, while providing technical advice
    and capacity enhancement on lobbying, advocacy and DRR to the ACT Uganda
    Forum and partners.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a Masters
    degree in Social Sciences or any related field
  • Possess a minimum of three years’
    professional experience in humanitarian response, disaster risk reduction,
    rights based programming, advocacy cycle management, policy, lobbying and
    networking.
  • The successful candidate shall be expected
    to ascribe to the ACT Alliance core values.
