Job Summary: The Program Focus Area- Coordinator Sustainable Livelihoods will offer overall leadership and direction in Planning, implementation, Monitoring and evaluation of the sustainable livelihoods work in line with CSP-IV and relevant organizational policies.          
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Offer technical support and undertake resource mobilization tasks in line with CSP IV and organizational Policies
  • Develop, lead the implementation and monitoring of sustainable livelihood strategies for guiding planning and implementation, communicate and provide support to respective units in line with the CSP IV and organizational Policies
  • Monitor livelihoods programmes, communicate and consolidate reports and submit to the Policy manager in line with the organizational accountability systems’ requirements
  • Offer technical assistance and strengthen the capacity of staff and partners for quality programming in line with CSP IV and organizational Policies
  • Perform contextual analysis, research and analyze policies for generation of evidence for policy advocacy and campaigns in line with the CSP and AA theory of change
  • Routinely engage in and coordinate local, national and international policy advocacy and campaign work in line with AA theory of change
  • Mobilize, coordinate and support the building and strengthening networks, coalitions, alliances and relationships with other stakeholders at all levels (local, national, regional and international) in line with AAIU theory of change
  • Plan, coordinate and implement Emergency Response Interventions in line with organizational policies
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for this vacancy should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies or any other relevant degree from a reputable institution.
  • Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification and training in rights based approaches, food security, participatory methods and policy analysis is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three to four years’ relevant working experience from a recognized institution
  • Detailed knowledge of sustainable livelihoods approaches
  • Knowledge in food security
  • Integrated Climate change approaches knowledge
  • Detailed knowledge of planning and budgeting
  • Skills and expertise in participatory methods PVA, TDI
  • Detailed understanding of Governance, Women rights, gender and poverty analysis
  • Significant working knowledge of Project proposal development and Resource mobilization
  • Knowledge of human rights and democracy
  • Skills in civic education and empowerment
  • Knowledge of International Humanitarian Sector
  • Good Communication skills
  • Youth programming skills
  • Excellent report writing and record keeping skills
  • Awareness raising skills
  • Team work and team building skills
  • Possess a high level of confidentially
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good people management and team work skills
  • Research methodologies, Policy analysis and formulation
  • Skills in partner capacity assessment and development
  • Excellent networking, partner mobilization and advocacy skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of contracts management
  • Emergence assessment, deployment and response skills
  • Conflict and Peace analysis/building skills
