Coordinator
contributing to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and
improving the quality of Life of persons, families and communities affected by
HIV infection and disease, requires the services of dedicated, competent,
innovative and results oriented persons for employment on a contract basis for
the positions above;
and support to PLHIV and their households.
Responsibilities:
Offer quality and comprehensive psychosocial
services to clients, family members and communities
Carry out ARV refills to clients at facility and
community as per schedule
Technically support clients adherence on ART and
foster family support.
Foster and build linkages for OVCs, selections
and make necessary school visits and support
Conduct health talks at facility and CDDPs
Perform targeted home visits to foster family
support
Monitor basic parameters of clients on ART
Monitor clients adherence to ART
Follow up clients to ensure retention in care
and on ART
Refer and ensure linkage of clients to other
services
Establish and maintain peer support groups for
clients
Comprehensive HIV psychosocial services provided
ARVs and other prophylactic drugs delivered at
facility and community
TASO clients home visited
Comprehensive OVC services delivered
Clients adhering to ART
Clients retained in care
Clients linked to other services
Experience:
The ideal candidates for the Counsellor jobs
should possess Bachelor’s Degrees in Social Sciences, Education, SWSA, and
Development studies, Community and Adult Education, Community Psychology,
Guidance and Counselling, BSc Nursing and Clinical Officer’s diploma.
HIV Counselling Certificate is a MUST have.
Additional Trainer of Trainers and Child
Counselling Certificate
The applicant should preferably have at least a
year’s experience in HIV Counselling or Clinical services
Ability to ride a Motor cycle riding is a must
Ability to communicate medical facts to
non-medical people.
A copy of valid driving permit at least with
class “A” should be attached.
High degree of Integrity, Empathy, Patience,
Confidentiality
Possess the ability to work under mental and
physical stress
