About USAID
NUDEIL Project:
The Northern Uganda Development of Enhanced Local
Governance, Infrastructure and Livelihoods (NUDEIL) is a program is a USAID
funded pilot program that aims to restore peace and development throughout
Uganda through a combination of economic, financial and infrastructural
activities through the use of a G2G (Government to Government) modality. The
USAID mission in Uganda is currently accepting proposals to conduct a
performance evaluation of the NUDEIL program to assess the overall
effectiveness of this modality in the restoration of peace and developing to
targeted regions in Uganda.
Job Summary: The USAID NUDEIL Local Engineering Specialist will assess the quality
and effectiveness of infrastructural development and extent to which the right
program and or industrial standards were adhered to. S/he will contribute to
the design of relevant tools, collect data, prepare and participate in the
writing the report.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must
    hold a good Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree. Project
    Management qualification would be an added advantage.
  • At least ten (10) years
    of progressive experience in engineering design and project management of
    roads, building and rural water and sanitation
  • Highly familiar with the
    GOU Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets regulations
  • Good working knowledge of
    how the Government of Uganda and Local Government systems is desirable.
  • Past exposure and
    experience working in rural areas
