About UCDA:
The Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) was established by
statutory mandate in 1991 following the liberalization of the coffee industry.
The Statute mandates UCDA to: “oversee the coffee industry by supporting
research, promoting production, controlling the quality and improving the
marketing of coffee in order to optimise foreign exchange earnings for the
country and payments to farmers.”.
Job Summary: The incumbent
will drive UCDA vehicles as and when required, and transport persons and other
goods to their intended destinations.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Drive UCDA vehicles as directed and ensure
    their safety;
  • Report to the Supervisor all mechanical
    problems including when servicing is due, or when maintenance or major
    repairs are required;
  • Routinely check vehicles to ensure that
    they are in proper and good running condition including but not limited to
    oil, tyre pressure, lights and fuel;
  • Maintain vehicles by ensuring their
    cleanliness, regular service and repair;
  • Maintain vehicle records including service
    cards, keep accurate log sheets and give accountability of fuel used.
  • Keep safe custody of tools and vehicle
    equipments;
  • Prepare documentation necessary for
    servicing of the vehicle;
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from
    time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must possess a valid
    driving permit with at least 2 classes, (B and DL) for the driving permit.
  • The candidate should also hold an A-level
    certificate of education.
  • Possession of a certificate in motor
    vehicle maintenance is an added advantage.
  • Five or more years’ experience in driving
    with a clean record.
  • A person of high integrity and honesty.
