About CHAI:
Founded in 2002 by President William J. Clinton, the
Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization
committed to strengthening integrated health systems around the world and
expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, malaria and other
illnesses. Based on the premise that business oriented strategy can facilitate
solutions to global health challenges, CHAI acts as a catalyst to mobilize new
resources and optimize the impact of these resources to save lives, via
improved organization of commodity markets and more effective local management.
By working in association with governments and other NGO partners, CHAI is
focused on large scale impact and, to date, CHAI has secured lower pricing
agreements for treatment options in more than 70 countries. In addition, CHAI’s
teams are working side-by-side with over 30 governments to tackle many of the
largest barriers to effective treatment and care.
Job Summary: The CHAI Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for developing
and coordinating high-impact supply and promotion partnerships with
implementing NGOs, social businesses, religious councils and other civil
society organizations to reach people at the bottom of the pyramid.  The incumbent will be involved in the
implementation and will require a “practical” approach.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Initiate and develop
    partnerships with a wide range of organization such as NGOs, social
    businesses, microfinance institutions, religious organizations
  • Integrate key messages
    about diarrhea and pneumonia prevention and management in partners’
    existing programs
  • Leverage partners’
    distribution capacities to reach population at the bottom of the pyramid
  • Explore sales and
    marketing opportunities beyond traditional pharmaceutical distribution
    channels: scope the opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Act as the key focal
    point between these partners and CHAI
  • Perform any other
    activities, as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
  • At least three years’
    experience in a demanding results driven environment, with increasing
    levels of responsibility and leadership;
  • Past exposure and experience
    working in partnership with not-for-profit organizations, microfinance
    groups or social businesses  
  • Excellent entrepreneurial
    mindset and strong self-motivation
  • Exceptional project
    management skills and attention to detail
  • Possess the ability to
    create budget and ensure follow up
  • Ability to multi-task,
    prioritize, and be effective under tight deadlines and in high-pressure
    situations
  • Strong work ethic and
    flexibility
  • Possession of an advanced
    degree in business, marketing, or a related field will be an added
    advantage
  • An excellent track record
    in managing partners will be an added advantage
  • High proficiency in two
    or more languages spoken in Uganda will be an added advantage
  • Past exposure and
    experience in promoting Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or
    Over-the-Counter (OTC) healthcare products is an added advantage
