About FH/U:
Food for the Hungry (FH/U) is a Christian international relief and development organization that has been working in Uganda since 1989. FH’s primary goal is to respond to development needs and complex humanitarian emergencies. In Uganda, FH is operational in the communities of Pader, Kitgum, Lamwo, Agago, Kole, Kween, Mbale, and Mukono Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located it Kampala.
Job Summary: The Human Resource and Administration Manager will primarily oversee all HR functions in-country including recruitment, on boarding, training, and employment services. In addition, the HRM will serve in a key FH/Uganda leadership role, liaising between staff and upper management and facilitating interdepartmental communication and positive relationship building among all staff. The HRM will contribute to the overall smooth operation of FH I Uganda’s administration and program areas by providing guidance for all employment and personnel issues.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Overall HR Structure, Procedures and Protocol for FH/Uganda
- Provide direction, oversight and implementation of all HR Functions
- Responsible for Compensation, Benefits, and Compliance functions of HR
- Address issues related to personnel and staff performance
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Personnel/Human Resource Management or related field in the area of Management, Master’s degree in similar subject from a recognized institution.
- At least eight years’ experience with International non-governmental organization, of which 5 years in a managerial position,
- Good organizational and human resource management skills.
- Able to motivate, organize, and train a staff of up to 60 individuals
- Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Good knowledge of Uganda Labor Law
- Possess the ability to work independently with creativity
- Fluent in reading and writing the English language
- Must be Ugandan by nationality.
- Vibrant personal relationship with Christ with a proper understanding of FH foundational principles, Vision, Mission, and Values.
