(SACCOs) and, agricultural production, value addition and marketing
co-operatives, UCA has embarked on the process of promoting self sustaining
housing cooperatives in Uganda.
Co-operatives Unit will support UCA in setting up and managing the new Unit.
The Unit Manager will be responsible for the development of a sustainable
cooperative housing sector focusing at the low income groups in peri-urban
areas. The Manager is expected to provide strong leadership to the new unit
which, should also effectively work with UCA’s collaborating partners inside
and outside Uganda. The Manager is expected to assist UCA management in
designing and executing a national program where interested and committed
communities will be identified, mobilized, sensitized and guided to acquire
decent homes using a co-operative business model.
Experience:
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Architecture - Additionally, the Manager should
understand how the construction industry in Uganda works, should have the
necessary computer skills, creative and innovative and able to - guide the participating communities to
come up with suitable housing solutions and means to achieve them. - Possession of a Diploma in Project
Planning & Management - At least three years practical working
experience in relevant field
