Global Trust Bank (Uganda) Limited, commonly referred to as Global
Trust Bank (GTBU), is a commercial bank in Uganda which started operations in
2008. Its headquarters are located in a five-storey building on Kampala Road in
the center of Uganda’s capital, Kampala. Global Trust Bank is 49% owned by
Nigeria’s largest insurance company Industrial and General Insurance Company
Plc. (IGI). The remaining 51% is owned by National Insurance Corporation (NIC)
and Ugandan individuals. NIC itself is 60% owned by IGI. The remaining 40% of
NIC is owned by Individual and Institutional Investors in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts database security and access
control audits. - Carries out systems security audits.
- In charge of managing all applications of systems and
general I.T. control audits - Participation in UAT for new systems
processes. - Developing MIS reports for internal audit
use. - Prepares and submits audit plan and work
papers for assigned normal, snap and follow-up audits. - Exercises due professional care in
performing systems Audit work, including reviewing operating efficiency,
measuring attainment of objectives, and making recommendations for cost
reductions and earnings improvement. - Provides open communication with audit
line management during audits. - Drafts updates to systems audit programs
and manual. - Exercises sound business judgment,
distinguishing between important and unimportant matters when evaluating
audit results. - Performs special investigations as
assigned. - Perform any other duties as assigned by
Head of Audit or Audit Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal Bank candidate must possess a
bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from a recognized
university at least must have proficiency CISA/CISM or any other
information systems certifications. - Possess competent knowledge of accounting
principles, auditing standards and techniques. - At least two years general
banking/financial institution experience, or in an IT based organization. - Good oral and written communication
skills. - Past experience as an internal auditor
with demonstrated leadership abilities. - Possess technical knowledge in information
systems
