- Operationalize the UIA Strategic Plan for SMEs.
- Coordinate and supervise development of the National SME policy and strategy in UIA.
- Manage the implementation of the National SME policy and Strategy.
- Conduct and/or coordinate SME relevant research and provide business related information to the SME.
- Work closely with business development service (BDS) providers and other partner agencies and to effectively address SME problems and concerns.
- Actively participate in development of linkages between large companies and SMEs.
- Identify and minimize of administrative barriers to the SME sector.
- Facilitate and support the development of the cottage Industry
- Facilitate and support National Content inclusion in new/ emerging economic sectors of oil and gas.
- Craft and implement SME appropriate services
- Advise, appraise, register and facilitate SMEs as provided by the UIA Work plan.
- Conduct detailed divisional planning and budgeting activities.
- Prepare the division’s documentation and reports.
- Manage staff in SME division.
- The applicant must possess a good master’s Degree in Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness or Development Studies.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Commerce or the equivalent from a recognised institution/University.
- Possession of any other postgraduate qualification will be added advantage
- A minimum of five years’ work experience in SME support activities, preferably with private sector, Business Support Organisation, Entrepreneurship training or public sector.
- Proven proficiency in programme planning, implementation and monitoring. Furthermore, the incumbent must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literacy skills and be able to work under minimum supervision
