of Internal Audit

About GTB:
Global Trust Bank (Uganda) Limited, commonly referred to as Global Trust
Bank (GTBU), is a commercial bank in Uganda which started operations in 2008.
Its headquarters are located in a five-storey building on Kampala Road in the
center of Uganda’s capital, Kampala. Global Trust Bank is 49% owned by
Nigeria’s largest insurance company Industrial and General Insurance Company
Plc. (IGI). The remaining 51% is owned by National Insurance Corporation (NIC)
and Ugandan individuals. NIC itself is 60% owned by IGI. The remaining 40% of
NIC is owned by Individual and Institutional Investors in Uganda.
Global Trust Bank is a dynamic, consumer-focused limited liability
company. It started operations in November 2008, in Uganda. The bank was
established on the principles of service, performance and professionalism. It
is the desire of the owners to transform the organisation into a global player
in the financial sector.
 Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Offer prudent and proactive audit coverage
    of the bank in a cost effective manner.
  • Support the Board of Directors in
    fulfilling their responsibilities relating to audits.
  • Maintain an open line of communication
    with the MD and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Develop a professional audit team.
  • Coordinate Inspection and requisite audit
    work of Bank of Uganda Supervision and External Auditors.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive
    audit plan for GTB Bank.
  • Operating Systems review for controls and
    efficiency.
  • Perform any other related job tasks.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree
    with specialty in accounting or a related discipline from a recognized
    university; or an advanced degree in another field from a recognized
    university; candidate must however be member of ACCA/CPA/ICPAU/ISACA or
    any other Accounting Professional body.
  • The applicant must be experienced as an
    auditor, either from within the banking sector or a related financial
    service; must be knowledgeable in audit techniques, standards, and
    computer applications.
  • Possess excellent communication skills,
    both written and oral, with demonstrated managerial, organizational, and
    analytical skills.
  • The Job holder must be an independent
    thinker, capable of forming sound conclusions and recommendations.
