APA Insurance underwrites General Insurance risks including Motor,
Liability, Aviation, Marine, Agriculture, Property, and Micro Insurance. We
also underwrite Health Insurance, i.e. Corporate Health schemes, Individual
& Family Health Insurance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring preparation and submission of
accounts to the board as per set policy and procedures - Compiling and preparing year-end financial
statements for the audit - Implementing internal financial controls
to ensure compliance to internal procedures, financial policies and
standards and statutory financial regulations - In charge of the coordination of the
preparation of annual expenditure and income budget - Carrying out reconciliation of accounts
and reporting any discrepancies - Supervision of daily bank reconciliations
to ensure they are accurate, following up on any discrepancies to ensure
they are satisfactorily resolved - Coordinate the annual internal, external
and tax audit, and respond to audit queries - Management and oversight of debt
collection and credit control to ensure proper cash flow and adherence to
credit policy - Responsible for treasury management and
investments - Ensuring all statutory returns that
include PAYE, NSSF, IRA are made on time - Management of the credit control function
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should possess a good
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or Business Related - Professional accounting qualification i.e.
CPA(U) qualification - Possess at least five years in a busy
working environment, two of which must have been in a senior or management
level - Extensive knowledge of the Insurance
Industry will be added advantage - Possess the ability to work with the major
financial accounting systems - Ability to meet the deadlines of various
reporting requirements - High degree of personal integrity,
independent, excellent interpersonal skills, good leadership skills and
analytical skills - Must be a Ugandan National
