Venture, seeks to strengthen and enlarge the church of Jesus Christ as they
minister holistically to children, youth, and adults, to those of minority
groups, and to the disenfranchised, in partnership with the Baptist Union of
Uganda and other local churches, through formal and informal education in
leadership training and through strategic relationships. They do this
envisaging creative, vibrant, and reproducing churches composed of mature
believers of integrity, equipped through holistic training, who are committed
to building strong family units, mentoring others, and impacting the circles in
which they move in positive and profound ways.
Job Summary: We desire
that the people of Uganda become well-educated and contributing citizens of
integrity, godly family members, and globally-focused church leaders, in order
to impact all sectors of society and the world for the glory of God. This will
be realized through academic, vocational, and spiritual training of excellence.
The Child Psychologist will be assisting in need of improved mental health and
training others in child psychology and related fields and ministries. Work
with mentally ill children in Uganda through working with the Butabika Mental
Hospital outside Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Learn
    language and culture (depending on time commitment).
  • Learn
    and the mental health care and mental hospital scene.
  • Work
    in Butabika hospital possibly teaching care givers in training.
  • Deliver
    Bible training.
  • Develop
    programs to help mentally ill children be successful.
  • Develop
    and work with a team of other missionaries and committed nationals to
    deliver spiritual and mental care.
  • Offer
    some mental care for missionary children.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    candidate must possess a good Master’s degree in a mental health field,
    preferably a PhD.
  • Past
    experience will be very advantageous.
  • Be
    highly compassionate
  • Excellent
    coaching ability, team work, able to work in among poor with limited
    resources.
