About Us:
Mengo Hospital is the oldest hospital in Uganda which was established by Sir Albert Cook in 1897. Today, the hospital is an urban community hospital with all the amenities of a modern hospital.
Job Summary: The Ward Managers will primarily;
  • Ensure that the Ward is run efficiently and effectively with due regard to Customer care and quality services.
  • Provide consistent and effective support supervision and co-ordination of staff and operations on the Ward, towards quick and quality service delivery to Clients.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The applicants must be a qualified Nurse/Midwife at Registered level and above. Additional qualification and hands-on training in Health Services Management, Customer care or Hospitality Management’is an added and competitive advantage. Computer literacy skills are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of three years’ relevant working experience, including Managerial/ Administrative roles, in a Health facility.
  • Excellent leadership skills including communication and interpersonal skills, assertive with ability to direct, control, coach and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with capacity to provide satisfying solutions to operational problems on the Ward
  • The ideal candidate must be registered and licensed by the Nurses & Midwives Council
