Director
for industrialization, established by an Act of Parliament of Uganda under the
auspices of the Ministry of Trade Industry and cooperatives (MTIC). It is the
country’s main vehicle for implementing strategies and measures aimed at
transforming industry in Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an Internal Audit Charter for UIRI
- Develop an annual audit plan and work
schedule for UIRI which will provide a thorough review of the institutes’
operation. - Carry out on going views of internal
procedures with recommendations to the Executive Director. - Keenly examine and evaluate system record
and operating procedures, verify compliance with established plans,
policies, procedures and control systems. - Assure compliance with regulatory and
statutory conditions and ensure adherence to generally acceptable
accounting and auditing principles and report inconsistence to the
Executive director. - Review financial support received and
credible service granted and review benefit payment for completeness of
information, appropriateness, accuracy and timeliness. - Verify accuracy of data and financial
information against work plans and budgets. - Develop and obtain proper approval for
goals, audit work schedules, staffing plans, training plans, project plans
and financial budgets for the Department. - Conduct schedules and special audits and
make recommendations for improvements in the UIRI institute. - Prepare quarterly audit reports.
- Advise on financial control systems to
adopt for the entire UIRI. - Discuss key audit findings and
recommendations with respective departments. - Stay abreast on latest trends in
accounting and auditing. - Maintain a proper audit record filling and
documentation system. - Maintain and promote the positive image of
the institute.
Experience:
- The prospective UIRI employee should
possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Commerce, ACCA
qualification is an added advantage. - Additional professional CIA Certification
- A minimum of five years’ experience in
internal auditing with reputable institution.
